Sally Hansen Crackle nail polish review! NEW LENS!

Wednesday, May 18, 2011

Hello everyone! Here I come back with my FIRST real review since taking that hiatus. The new crackle nail craze!!! My coworker had the black crackle nail polish from Sally Hansen, and I have the gold. Hers looked awesome against her red! Very bold colors. However I went a different route, and decided to get 06 Antiqued Gold in the Crackle nail polish and 440 Calypso Blue from Complete Salon Manicure line from Sally Hansen.

Ooooh such pretty beach colors. Well, that's what I had in mind for it anyways. Let me remind you that the night before I had tried the black base coat and gold crackle top. Needless to say, I didn't do it right somehow. I didn't understand! This is when my coworker told me that you have to let your base coat dry ALL THE WAY for like, 20 minutes. I retried this last night and had better luck!

Now that it's actually on, I don't know how I feel about it. It looks sort of different in person, a little more vibrant I think. But it looks more seafoam green and gold. Still, I wanted earthy tones since it's summer, so this is what I got.

Did I mention I dyed my hair??

(Please do not mind the no makeup!!! This is in the morning today!!) Wooo! Dark! Not too much ?? Compared to what I was before

NOT much of a difference. But I got bored and needed change hahaha.

I used L'Oreal Preference Color RR07. I already have natural red hair, so it just makes it a little more intense of red.

I loooooove this hair dye! It has a conditioner that reminds me of the rose perfume I got from a Disney magainze once. (Yes, I saved it from a little girl til I was an adult to use it, and now it is gone, and it had Belle on it!!)
My hair was very soft afterwards too, even Zac said so!!

So I got a new lens for my Canon camera. The 50mm 1.8 canon lens! I am getting a lot more jobs now taking photos, and finally got some new stuff for my camera!! Prepare for some massive cute kitty pictures and people I love! By the way, the pictures for the nail crackle part of the review is with the new lens! It is a very good macro!

One of the kittens at my Grandma's house!! He is the oldest, and he doesn't really have a name. But he is crazy and chases his tail for like, minutes at a time. He has no one to play with his age =(!!

HAHAHAHA! The best picture taken of a McDonald's cup ever!! The real photo you can zoom in and actually read the cup!! So crisp the focus is!

My papa! He just got his hair cut !!!! So funny =)!

And my favorite guy! He had just got off work and was not exactly thrilled about me using him to take people pictures first XD!!! Poor guy, what he puts up with.

So that's about it. I plan on buying the black crackle nail color, just because I think you can do more with bolder colors. Tonight we are going to St. Louis to see a comedian for Zac's birthday! It's not today, but is next week. And I'm waiting on his birthday gift =(. Come soon!
Also, tomorrow I am having lunch with an old friend I haven't seen in a while! I cannot wait!!

I leave you with a picture of my feet and dogs =)!

rrrrr... busy week at work. photography post?

Wednesday, March 2, 2011

I have absolutley NO time to write all my reviews that I want, and boy do I have a lot of them. I have got a lot of the newer makeup that's been out for about a month now, but just haven't had time to do it, because CVS is keeping me busy 24/7. I feel like I have neglected this nice little side hobby blog of mine, and felt that I should at least post something. So I figured why not some self portraits I did in photography, pictures that I actually look good in hahahaha. I promised this weekend, I will have a real review up.

On to the pictures!!!!

This is about I'd say a summer or two ago. Yes, that is some straight hair!!! What the heck? I don't know, I have come to love my natural curly hair, plus it's so much easier to do than straighten my thick hair.
here is what it looked like in color:

Wow. Look at that blonde-orange fire going on there. I absolutely love it, but not the damage it takes to make it that color. I do it almost every summer, and everyone loves it, and I'm thinking about doing it again soon, but should I???

This was taken at my grandmother's house, and one of my dad's favorite pictures of myself. No tripod, all did by just holding the camera. Most of these are in black and white, because I think it looks better, a little more classier when you do a fashion self portrait shot.

Taken at my grandparents. This time it was a tripod. This is a fan favorite for some reason, though I don't think I look as pretty as I do in the other ones =S.

This is one of my favorites, and also what happens when I come home at night alone and drunk hahaha.
I'm surprised I didn't break my camera, nor have a horrible and ruined shot. I also like how my head for some reason looks a little bigger than my body. =S

This was before I quit smoking, and photoshopped the clock over the face. It was supposed to show a girl waiting as the time went by, but I dunno. Art can tell so many different stories. =).

and now for some photography not of myself!!! Hoorah!

Tiny Tim was a very small kitten that was born at my grandparent's house. He never grew very big, and is still quite small. I call him a dwarf cat, which I don't think he minds. This photo has gotten a lot of favorites at deviantart, and is one of the more popular photos of mine.

This is my favorite, the colors, the bokeh, everything.  These bluebirds are crazy though! When I was in the kitchen window trying to take their pictures, they would fly into the window for some reason. Crazy birds. But I got this wonderful shot of one, so that makes me happy!

Bees are one of my favorite insects. However, I do not like being stung by them. We have a bunch of flowers at my mother's house, seeing we lived in the country. There were lots of chances to take pictures of these little guys!

I...absolutely....hate spiders. Scared to death of them. But I had to get super close to this corn spider to get the shot. He never really got angry or moved unless I breathed on him, and everytime he did I ran away screaming like a fool.

These transformers are out on the old dirt road that goes to my grandfather's old oil wells, and I just thought they looked like a couple enjoying the day. the heart bokeh was added by photoshop, which helps entitle the photograph, "Sparks are Flying".

I think that is it for now. If you want to see more of my nature photography, you can go to My deviantart page  and check things out =). I guess photography is more of my good hobby, but I just like doing so many different things, and it's harder these days to take pictures in cold Illinois weather. I can't wait for spring!!!!!

St. Louis trip and Korean Aqualette Green Tea recovery mask!! =D

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

Oh boy. It's been a while hasn't it? As you all know, we went to St. Louis to get a new couch and coffee table, which I love both very much! Our couch is a sage color (Did I ever mention green is my favorite color?) And the coffee table has two slide out chairs. SO neat!!!! So while we were there, we met up with friends, had supper, and went shopping!!! That's also obviously a favorite of mine. So on to the first review!!!!

So we went to a mall, which...honestly I can't remember the name of, and went to a few stores. But a store called Forever 21 happened to catch my eye. Looking like a fancy boutique, it was decorated with fancy white tables, and everything a girl could dream of! The walls were encased with lots and lots of jewelry, all for what is fairly cheap. I could buy the same jewelry here in my local town, and probably pay double for it.

I promised the boyfriend I wouldn't buy too much, or go bankrupt ahahaha. So I only bought a few cheap face masks, a pair of earrings, and a little lip gloss kit with three different shades.

I'm not really sure what brand the lip gloss is, as the only thing on the box says "Love & Beauty." I'm not really a fan of the red tinted lip gloss, but the other two go on pretty smooth, and I have a really bad problem with chapped lips in the winter. These worked better than most chapsticks that I buy at my work, which I thought was amazing. The whole set was only $3.80, another part that makes this great.

AQUALETTE SKIN RECOVERY MASK GREEN TEA

Ahh. There are so many things that I can say about this mask. I am only saddened that I won't be anywhere close to get more. I really should of bought more than just one. When pulling this out of the package, you would think that it would be a spread on mask, you know, the mud or slimey stuff that you end up washing off later. But surprise! It ends up coming out exactly how it looks on the package, only I think a little bit creepier. You use it of course after showering and cleansing your face, leaving your pores open to accept all the loveliness of this mask. I left it on for about 30 minutes, it was just so relaxing, but I don't think they suggest you leave it on that long (10-20 maybe.)  I took a short little relax nap with it on, and went upstairs to throw it away, and look at the progress. Sometimes I have problems with these masks because a lot of them are cheap, and slimey and make my skin break out. BUUUT! I cannot say that about this one. This mask was only $1.80, but was worth probably more than those 3 dollar ones you buy at Wal*Mart.

The thing they don't mention is the whitening power of this. It instantly cleared up my pores, and made my skin color all ....well normal. I don't know if many of you are familiar with asian skin care, but they have a lot to do with whitening and correcting the tone of your skin color, and also have the ability to sometimes remove facial scars caused from acne. Like I said, for a $1.80, I can't believe the work it did on me. And my skin was as smooth as silk!! I really do regret not buying more, or being able to have access to these locally, but perhaps I can find them on the internet soon =).

SO that was the review. Now for more about the St. Louis trip. We ended up meeting with the boyfriend's friend, and going out for supper at Oceano's Bistro, which is a wonderful seafood restaurant. I ended up having the scallops.
Mmmmm! Delicious! And fancy!!! However after 3, I was done. I highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for sea food, and are ever in the St. Louis area. They also served us some homemade bread made in a brick oven, along with an oil dip which I think I enjoyed more than any of my meal.  However, the price is a little expensive (Not really, $20 or more for a plate, which is reasonable if you know seafood.)

The night ended with some Irish pubs, where the evening went on for a very long time. Needless to say, it was a tiring journey home along with having to fight the snow. But it was enjoyable! Definitely a vacation that I needed.

Well that's all for now, I'll have to blog about the other face masks when I get around to using them, which one I have, but I thought I should put the other two together, ya know?? Soon I will be reviewing some BB cream that I ordered, which sounds pretty delicious to my skin right about now. =) So on that note, I'm leaving you with what St. Louis looked like by the end of the night, you know, after the pubs =D!!! Goodnight everyone!!

Ewww. Not feeling too good at this point =S
