Lauren Conrad outfit, healing garden and select lash, and hipstamatic!

Friday, July 15, 2011

Oh geeze. Everything you can do on this iphone is amazing! Seeing as I am all about photography (and do it as a part time living) I had heard soooo much about Hipstamatic, and decided to actually buy the app and a few other lens and film for it.

Oh I just love the way these photos feel. I also love how my mother has antique items to take pictures of =3.

After I took some pictures, I took my mom into town to get her groceries and other stuff, and low and behold I found some neat items!!!

The Healing Garden Romance Passionate Rose RainWater body mist!
I am always looking for some kind of rose scent, because I used to have a Disney Belle perfume that smelled of the most wonderful roses!! I still have the bottle so I can smell it. But I can't ever find anything close to it, so I get pretty excited and buy anything to do with roses. This is a nice light smell of roses, which I got the lotion too. It's still nothing compared to my Belle perfume, but it is something different while Summer is still going on.

OH my gosh, and for the best thing I got today!!!
This is the Lauren Conrad clothing line (Both top and shorts) and I had Kohl's $10 off. So I got the entire outfit for $52.14 !! I guess that's not too bad, seeing some outfits are really really expensive. I really wanted these shoes, they were on clearance, but I don't want to spend too much money before vacation T.T

I'm trying to convince Zac to buy them for me since they are only $14 hahahaha! We will see.....

I also bought some lashes made by Select Last, and cut them in half because I don't feel the need for a full set.

Along with the latte lens again! Hahaha. I just love them, so neat. I used my D-UP Eyelashes Fixer EX 552-Clear Type(Pink bottle-Limited), and it has a pretty neon blue look to it (weird description, I know, but when you look at the brush it does! Weird gel colors and their magic!! But anyways, this is by far the best glue I've used, because of the easy access shape brush. It is perfect for either eye or eyelash.

I love my nude lipstick. But I really want to try a coral soon.
And Hard candy blush is ok, I just want good makeup, but refuse to pay so much. I will break down soon.

Oh, by the way, I also got a L.A. Colors pink swatch set for like, $1.25 from DG also, just because I was curious at these vibrant colors, and the horrible cheap price of fear. Well they worked awesome! A lot shimmery than some of my other shades from CG or L'Oreal. I was really surprised! I may add those later if someone asks later. Well, I'm off to prepare for my friends wedding tomorrow. I'm going to try and shoot it both with my Canon, and the Hipstamatic. Just an experiment. =).

Sally Hansen Crackle nail polish review! NEW LENS!

Wednesday, May 18, 2011

Hello everyone! Here I come back with my FIRST real review since taking that hiatus. The new crackle nail craze!!! My coworker had the black crackle nail polish from Sally Hansen, and I have the gold. Hers looked awesome against her red! Very bold colors. However I went a different route, and decided to get 06 Antiqued Gold in the Crackle nail polish and 440 Calypso Blue from Complete Salon Manicure line from Sally Hansen.

Ooooh such pretty beach colors. Well, that's what I had in mind for it anyways. Let me remind you that the night before I had tried the black base coat and gold crackle top. Needless to say, I didn't do it right somehow. I didn't understand! This is when my coworker told me that you have to let your base coat dry ALL THE WAY for like, 20 minutes. I retried this last night and had better luck!

Now that it's actually on, I don't know how I feel about it. It looks sort of different in person, a little more vibrant I think. But it looks more seafoam green and gold. Still, I wanted earthy tones since it's summer, so this is what I got.

Did I mention I dyed my hair??

(Please do not mind the no makeup!!! This is in the morning today!!) Wooo! Dark! Not too much ?? Compared to what I was before

NOT much of a difference. But I got bored and needed change hahaha.

I used L'Oreal Preference Color RR07. I already have natural red hair, so it just makes it a little more intense of red.

I loooooove this hair dye! It has a conditioner that reminds me of the rose perfume I got from a Disney magainze once. (Yes, I saved it from a little girl til I was an adult to use it, and now it is gone, and it had Belle on it!!)
My hair was very soft afterwards too, even Zac said so!!

So I got a new lens for my Canon camera. The 50mm 1.8 canon lens! I am getting a lot more jobs now taking photos, and finally got some new stuff for my camera!! Prepare for some massive cute kitty pictures and people I love! By the way, the pictures for the nail crackle part of the review is with the new lens! It is a very good macro!

One of the kittens at my Grandma's house!! He is the oldest, and he doesn't really have a name. But he is crazy and chases his tail for like, minutes at a time. He has no one to play with his age =(!!

HAHAHAHA! The best picture taken of a McDonald's cup ever!! The real photo you can zoom in and actually read the cup!! So crisp the focus is!

My papa! He just got his hair cut !!!! So funny =)!

And my favorite guy! He had just got off work and was not exactly thrilled about me using him to take people pictures first XD!!! Poor guy, what he puts up with.

So that's about it. I plan on buying the black crackle nail color, just because I think you can do more with bolder colors. Tonight we are going to St. Louis to see a comedian for Zac's birthday! It's not today, but is next week. And I'm waiting on his birthday gift =(. Come soon!
Also, tomorrow I am having lunch with an old friend I haven't seen in a while! I cannot wait!!

I leave you with a picture of my feet and dogs =)!

Lots to update?? Sally Hanson nail polish strips, eye primer, leopard nails??

Tuesday, February 22, 2011

Ohmygosh. It was been a long week. I guess I haven't updated in a while, which makes me feel even worst. But ah, at least I'm here now. So I just want to let everyone know how wonderful my Valentine's day was. (Kind of late for this entry, but I still feel it is necessary. ) The day began with a Doctor's appointment, and then I came home to the lovely site of roses.

Aww how sweet! I had bought a cake that day, and it was the most delicious cake I had ever tasted. However, Zac a day later swiped it off the counter accidently, and then there was no more delicious cake =(.

Awww. We had just got back from TGI Friday's. Delicious! I got the Sizzling Chick and Shrimp while he got some kind of other chicken or maybe even a Jack burger. I love dressing up, but I noticed a lot of couples really didn't. Not saying there's anything wrong with that, just I like makeup too much. So the outfit and jewelry were from Maurices;

I had a $10 off coupon punch card that day, so I got everything for about $36. The makeup is by L'oreal, the eye studio shades in Sapphire Siren.

So a couple of nights later I decided to get those new nail polish strips from Sally Hansen? I got the #350 Misbehaved.

These go for around $8 here.and are made for any nail size.
Oooh. Look at that strip! So obviously, the little tab goes on the top of the nail so you can pull the tab, and file the tip for adjustment. So I was pretty satisfied with the results, for I have used another brand of strip nail polish before, and the situation not going so well. I was pretty sure this product wasn't going to work, and that I wouldn't keep my hopes up too much. But I was proven wrong. The next day, none of the polish had come off in sleep. I went to work, which CVS is horrible on nails, and it only got a few dents in. The real problem came when I would shower. The bottom of these nails don't always fit perfectly right, and may go over your cuticle just SLIGHTLY! And all of a sudden your hair likes getting stuck in the tiny cracks where nail and polish don't meet. Ouch. Not really, but just an annoyance. But still, they hardly faded in the shower. I then began working on earrings that I've been making, and that's when the polish met its match. I got bored with this pattern, only because I saw some fake nails at Wal*Mart that are red and leopard print. Yeah...how teenager rockstar of me, but hey, I LOVED them. So I had to try and take this polish off before I put on the nails. Ugh, would not come off easily. Took forever . But I think the end result is good =)

So yeah. I've been making earrings because I get bored easily, and need something to do that is productive. And I thought if I could buy jewelry, I could make it and not worry about paying $10 for a pair I'll only wear once. So I bought the kit, some beads, and dug through old jewelry I knew I wouldn't use. This is what I came out with.

Eeek. I have a few more I made, but I don't have pictures of them yet. I love the angel wing ones, but I don't have anything pink to wear these with. But they're so pretty =(.

So I dunno, these earrings are just a way to let steam off I suppose. We spend a lot more time at home than out anymore, not that I mind. I like staying inside, and enjoying old movies or cleaning the house together. But then again, I like going out every once in a while too. Well I have written all I need to say for today! I will leave you with the gift I got after we got done having dinner with Zac's sister. We ate at Ruby Tuesday's, and it was delicious.

A lavender and peach martini. The bartender said most didn't like it, but I loved it! Even the dipping the lavender tea bag in it! He advised that I not make the martini completely purple, or it would be like drinking perfume. But yum yum!!

St. Louis trip and Korean Aqualette Green Tea recovery mask!! =D

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

Oh boy. It's been a while hasn't it? As you all know, we went to St. Louis to get a new couch and coffee table, which I love both very much! Our couch is a sage color (Did I ever mention green is my favorite color?) And the coffee table has two slide out chairs. SO neat!!!! So while we were there, we met up with friends, had supper, and went shopping!!! That's also obviously a favorite of mine. So on to the first review!!!!

So we went to a mall, which...honestly I can't remember the name of, and went to a few stores. But a store called Forever 21 happened to catch my eye. Looking like a fancy boutique, it was decorated with fancy white tables, and everything a girl could dream of! The walls were encased with lots and lots of jewelry, all for what is fairly cheap. I could buy the same jewelry here in my local town, and probably pay double for it.

I promised the boyfriend I wouldn't buy too much, or go bankrupt ahahaha. So I only bought a few cheap face masks, a pair of earrings, and a little lip gloss kit with three different shades.

I'm not really sure what brand the lip gloss is, as the only thing on the box says "Love & Beauty." I'm not really a fan of the red tinted lip gloss, but the other two go on pretty smooth, and I have a really bad problem with chapped lips in the winter. These worked better than most chapsticks that I buy at my work, which I thought was amazing. The whole set was only $3.80, another part that makes this great.

AQUALETTE SKIN RECOVERY MASK GREEN TEA

Ahh. There are so many things that I can say about this mask. I am only saddened that I won't be anywhere close to get more. I really should of bought more than just one. When pulling this out of the package, you would think that it would be a spread on mask, you know, the mud or slimey stuff that you end up washing off later. But surprise! It ends up coming out exactly how it looks on the package, only I think a little bit creepier. You use it of course after showering and cleansing your face, leaving your pores open to accept all the loveliness of this mask. I left it on for about 30 minutes, it was just so relaxing, but I don't think they suggest you leave it on that long (10-20 maybe.)  I took a short little relax nap with it on, and went upstairs to throw it away, and look at the progress. Sometimes I have problems with these masks because a lot of them are cheap, and slimey and make my skin break out. BUUUT! I cannot say that about this one. This mask was only $1.80, but was worth probably more than those 3 dollar ones you buy at Wal*Mart.

The thing they don't mention is the whitening power of this. It instantly cleared up my pores, and made my skin color all ....well normal. I don't know if many of you are familiar with asian skin care, but they have a lot to do with whitening and correcting the tone of your skin color, and also have the ability to sometimes remove facial scars caused from acne. Like I said, for a $1.80, I can't believe the work it did on me. And my skin was as smooth as silk!! I really do regret not buying more, or being able to have access to these locally, but perhaps I can find them on the internet soon =).

SO that was the review. Now for more about the St. Louis trip. We ended up meeting with the boyfriend's friend, and going out for supper at Oceano's Bistro, which is a wonderful seafood restaurant. I ended up having the scallops.
Mmmmm! Delicious! And fancy!!! However after 3, I was done. I highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for sea food, and are ever in the St. Louis area. They also served us some homemade bread made in a brick oven, along with an oil dip which I think I enjoyed more than any of my meal.  However, the price is a little expensive (Not really, $20 or more for a plate, which is reasonable if you know seafood.)

The night ended with some Irish pubs, where the evening went on for a very long time. Needless to say, it was a tiring journey home along with having to fight the snow. But it was enjoyable! Definitely a vacation that I needed.

Well that's all for now, I'll have to blog about the other face masks when I get around to using them, which one I have, but I thought I should put the other two together, ya know?? Soon I will be reviewing some BB cream that I ordered, which sounds pretty delicious to my skin right about now. =) So on that note, I'm leaving you with what St. Louis looked like by the end of the night, you know, after the pubs =D!!! Goodnight everyone!!

Ewww. Not feeling too good at this point =S

Opening REVIEW! Barbie Gossip Aqua lenses, Kamipita bows!

Thursday, January 20, 2011

Hello everyone! I'm at the hand of trying this new blog thing, for I really need something to do with my time off, other than sitting around playing video games. Since I buy a lot of fashion accessories, clothes, makeup and so much more, I figured why not review them? I know there are plenty of other review sites out there, but this is mostly for my friends who know nothing about what is out there! So let us start the review!!

BARBIE GOSSIP AQUA CIRCLE LENSES

I know what you are all thinking. Ever since the doctor scare with the Lady Gaga craze of wearing circle lenses (Which hers are not even real, by the way, it is computer generated. There is really no possible way to make your eyes THAT big.) that circle lenses are harmful, and will cause you to go blind. I, as well as many others will also tell you, circle lenses are just as harmful as regular contact lenses.   Over time, if you misuse contact lenses, you can cause yourself to have eye infections. Always make sure to wash your hands before you apply your contacts, and no makeup!! I strongly advise that part. Apply makeup always at a later time, because you may have to try a couple of times before the contact goes in. I know I do, for the simple fact I am quite a new user to lenses, and have longer nails.

I purchased these lenses from Pinky Paradise, a well trusted circle lense online store. Let me remind you, that these are not my first pair of circle lenses. I also purchased some Hana SPC Hyper Circle Grey contact lenses, which I will do a review of later. I always wanted to try the Barbie Gossip Aqua, for the simple fact I saw Jenny @ Sushi-cat.net review them also.

When ordering from Pinkyparadise, you have the different options of shipping, on this order I got the FEDEX, simply because I wanted to wear them to a special event that was the next weekend. FEDEX shipping will cost you twenty dollars, which is far more than the simple 5 you pay for standard shipping. I received my order a couple days later, with my blue elephant lense case (Did I mention you get a free lense case everytime you order a pair of lenses from Pinky Paradise?), and my free gift!

This is the cute blue elephant case that I got!! You can always request which ones you want in the notes before you order, and they have so many selections!! But the blue elephants are my favorite...They always twist to front the right way, making it easy for you to know which lense is right and left!!

And this is the outcome of the Gossip Aqua!! This is a very natural looking lense, while still giving you the doll eye look. I like them for the simple fact that you cannot easily distinguish if they are a lense or not, the brown mix in the middle really makes it easy to blend in with your natural eye color if you have blue, grey or green eyes.  My only complaint that I have had with these lenses is that my left one is a little harder to put in my eye for some reason, always wanting to fold up when I do so. But other than that, when you have them in, they feel like they are barely there, and I usually don't have to put eyedrops in except at the beginning to  get them a little adjusted. The eyedrops I recommend using are Rohto, which come in a neat little bottle.

Now! To see what they look like when they are not zoomed in on just your eye!!

Tada!!! Natural, yet you can tell that my eyes are slightly bigger than before! Like I said before, these lenses are amazing!! I want to try the green in the gossip series, or any other Barbie series, they seem to be very pretty lenses, and I have heard overall good things about them! They cost 25.90 USD (American dollars) plus shipping and handling, making these lenses affordable. I do not have a strength of prescription, seeing my eyes are perfect and I wear these for cosmetic reasons only. I don't think they make circle lenses for astigmatism.

KAMIPITA BOWS!

Ahhhh. My free gift that I received from Pinky Paradise was a Kamipita Bow. When I first got it, I thought it was just a fashion accessory, to wear because it's cute. However, when I looked up more about them, I found out they are more for holding your hair back for when you are styling it and putting makeup on!!

The bow comes in a small package, like above. They come in different patterns and colors. They have velcro on the back of them, and they just stick into your hair! No clasping and hurting, and they are ultra thin too! Making the weight non-existent and comfortable.

Zing! And that's how I wear them. Remember at the time, I didn't know they were to hold your hair back haha.   And there you have it!! Two items that you probably never knew about, that you can now try for yourself! Always remember if you do buy circle lenses, buy them from a trusted site, and always take care of them in a clean, safe way! You will never have problems if you follow the rules. It makes beauty that much more worth it!
